Long Eared Owl

I love taking pictures of wildlife and most of my albums are taken up with it, closely followed by pictures of my family. My Husband would include the grandchildren in the wildlife, not because they are particularly wild children but because they are always exuberant, full of energy and take up a lot of my time!

This Long Eared Owl, settled on the stump of a branch and took up a typical pose as it kept an eye out for danger and food, head rotating almost full circle as it looked around. The natural woodland makes a great backdrop with sunlight catching some of the leaves and making beautiful circular patterns. The detail will be fantastic for producing a painting which I aim to complete before the next show I'm going to in the gorgeous grounds of Bryngwyn Hall.
